Conversations on Quantum Gravity
The holy grail of theoretical physics is to combine general relativity with quantum theory. The purpose of this book is to survey the broad field of quantum gravity via interviews to hand-picked theoreticians about their views on quantum gravity and the remaining open questions.

A philosophical essay based on formal logic, psychology and neuroscience that I wrote when I was 24 years old. A simple demonstration about men’s handicap for understanding nature in its totality. A criticism to pure rationalism and new age world views.
The book was published in Portuguese in Companhia das Ilhas in 2014. Illustrations and book cover are authored by the Argentinian painter Pedro Solà. The book won the 2nd prize in the contest LabJovem. A collection of reviews about the book is available here.
A description in Portuguese: Wittgenstein, numa tentativa de construir uma linguagem desambígua e universal, concluiu que há determinadas coisas que o Homem pensa e sente cuja expressão não poderá́ ser levada a cabo através da recorrência ao discurso lógico e coerente, mas sim à poesia. Um homem que se dedique à matemática – o Matemático – é um homem que domina o pensamento lógico. Se pudéssemos atribuir a este uma forma geométrica, diríamos um quadrado, não pela forma da sua silhueta, mas pela forma como vê o Mundo: uma estrutura rígida com ângulos rectos. Mas enquanto o Matemático pensa ser capaz de lidar com um crescente grau de complexidade, simplesmente porque é capaz de escrever numa folha de papel o símbolo ∞, existe outro tipo de homem – o Guru – para o qual ∞ não é mais do que um mero limite, inalcançável pela lógica. Conjunto Homem apresenta-se como uma simples demonstração da incapacidade do Homem para abranger a Natureza na sua totalidade, como uma crítica ao racionalismo e ao new age como visões completas do Mundo, e como uma tentativa de utilização de recursos estilísticos em provas da lógica formal e científicas.
